Caesar dude

Hi dudes....it's been a while and I've been taking her easy....

Now as we know the dude smokes weed...you may smoke weed....I love to smoke weed but am contractually obligated not to smoke weed while I work for this company (gotta feed the monkey you understand!)

Excuse my rambling...now  where was I? Oh yeah...weed.

If Rastafarians can have weed as a tenet of there religion can we not do the same? Can we maybe insist on it on religious grounds?

Can we offer it as a principle (not insisting that one smokes but insisting that one has the right to?) Therefore allowing me to smoke but not be intoxicated on the premises you understand?

Only partly joshing...anyone out here know the law?

Peace Dudes

Reverend John.

I think the Rasta are "permitted" only by an understanding.

I found this on Yahoo answers:

Quote
In 2002, a three-judge panel for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled to limit federal prosecutions of Rastafarians who use marijuana for sacramental purposes on federal property or in U.S. territories. The judges determined that protections granted by a 1993 federal religious-freedom law permits the personal use and possession of marijuana - but not the sale or importation of marijuana - for religious purposes.

This decision is about 5 years old. I do not know if it was overturned or not since that time.

There is some ground in the human rights act to claim it as a sacrament, but the act does disallow breaking local (country, state, county whatever) laws.

I believe the legislation at the moment in the UK is it's not illegal to grow it, but it is illegal to harvest it. Though there are special licenses for the low THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol the main active compound in weed) version that is being grown for rope and paper and clothing use.

Then there's all the sale and using legislation.

We are loosely based in Taoism, most agree, and Taoism has several instances of cannabis use, Wa MU the Hemp Goddess is but one. Then there is KENAH BOSM, look that up for a laugh, turns out Gawd is a drug dealer.

You got some links on this please?

I tried "Wa MU the Hemp Goddess" but got Bast. Which is quite interesting as she has been one of my deities for ages because of the obvious cat connection,  and I did not know about the hemp connection (as a pagan your gods choose you for their won reasons  ;D).

Check this out Dudes:
Bast is the Goddess of enlightenment (symbolized by both cats and the rising sun). There is the obvious connection of the spiritual altered state of consciousness that some experience while under the influence of marijuana, hashish, bhang, and other herbal hemp preparations. She is Goddess of cats and the dawn, two important Tameran (ancient Egyptian) symbols for enlightenment. The Tamerans believed that enlightenment was a gift from the Goddess and was delivered to the human mind in the form of artistic inspiration. Painters, sculptors. poets, musicians, storytellers, dancers, and other members of the artistic community were at the forefront of the priesthood.

The Tamerans (ancient Egyptians) believed in a strong connection between physical pleasure and enlightenment. Food, sex, drugs, music, and dance all have clear magical and religious significance. Marijuana, as well as other plants with drug effects (especially poppies and mushrooms), was used extensively in Tameran magical and religous ceremonies and rituals.

Sorry, it was Ma Gu, http://www.wayofinfiniteharmony.org/who-is-ma-gu/

Our cannabis laws are stupid, they make our species look like ass backwards idiots. No wonder ET wont come visit us, one look at how we treat this issue would make any civilized being shake their head and walk away.

Here, we all know it is a spiritual enhancer, it promotes stillness, and gives awareness of interbeing. It is not required or discouraged, but it is understood.

Limbering up, is a real and factual, spiritual aspect of Dudeism, one we share with many of our compeers.

Dude, I was so high when I wrote that ;)

Fair to say you were well-toasted, then?  ::)  ;D

I did not watch my buddies die face down in the mud so some neocon fuck could start another war to abolish drugs. Harsh truth, that war is lost too, except those vaginal fucks keep using up our treasure to prosecute unwinnable efforts so some national/domestic security agency can continue to be funded to protect us against some conjured up threat. Am I wrong? Okay then. Believe me dude, that's the stress talkin'. Can you blame any "bum" for not looking/wanting a job, or knowing what day it is? And I don't want to be cheered up. At least until the "bums" win. Ah, Fuck it!

fucking-a right. it is our duty to lie to them as often as possible; otherwise, how will they be motivated to figure things out for themselves?
