whoa there matey, have you not read any of the rest of the forum, this is a religion about taking it easy, being laid back and perhaps smoking the odd J.

If it's noise and buzz you're looking for may I recomend the salvation army?

;D

I don't know, a little buzz can be a good thing, 'specialy after doin' a J.
I started dropping the D word over on another forum I post at, not big, just casually, almost lazily slipping it into my religious debates and comments.
With a sense of humour and a take er' easy attitude it can be done, but hey, I'm new here, and that's like just my opinion. ;)

I wouldn't say that it really matters what the outside world thinks of us, if they even think at all.

We're happy just being.  Word of mouth can be effective amongst compeers.

Of course, a few good men have been on the radio and the cinema screens spreading the message, but we're not really into the whole showboating thing, so we're not going for a media blitz here.

Afterall, we'll spoil our reputation as the world's slowest growing religion!

There is that film that was made recently that seemed to suggest we were all gun toting red necks!

Perhaps a bit of a new statement and some other examples of Dudeists doing the Dude thing may be useful.

Looking through various other posts around similar subjects it seems to me that most of us have sort of stumbled here via many interesting and diverse roads, but very few (though this may just be the vocal few on the forum) have been brought here by any real form of evangelism.

I'm a little disappointed, as I saw this trailer after I'd already contacted them, after I'd been told they were looking to speak to some Brits and thought I'd put myself forward on behalf of my country and my status as an active member of the community.  I've not heard back in 6 months, which makes me think the gun-toating pistol-wavers are our newest spokesmen, whether it's representative or not.

If I had heard back I was going to mention it to you and Klaus to see if you'd want in on it, show a group of Dudeists who aren't packing anything more dangerous than a sharp tongue ;)

Ho-hum!

The reason I brought this up is because its hard to be taken seriously by society... I mean, i put an ad on craigslist to do weddings and a girl that was interested said she heard LTD church wasn't real..... And in a way that's true, but if we're legal to perform marriages in the majority of states, thats pretty "real"....

Oh no video cameras at the next meeting?

This is always going to be a problem for us as a group.

The question for the

is how do you judge a church to be "real". We have sixty to seventy thousand members world wide. We have 2257 members on this forum.

We particularly don't have "churches" (and I hope we don't, ever because then shit just starts to get very restrictive).

Well, none from documentations, anyway :)

Afterall, it's not like we set the world alight with our cameraphones last time, in fact, I think we probably traumatised more people than we impressed after we posted those pics!

Just think what moving images and sound could do... *shudder*

Though it does beg for an answer to the film just to put another "Less biased" point of view.

From the inside so to speak.

Well, it is a little sad that the guys who are making the film are Brits who went to look in America without coming home (like I thought I was told they were) to look at what's going on over here.  I think we're certainly not like anyone I've seen clips of in the US so far, but that's because of the huge cultural gap, despite our sometimes apparent closeness with America.

Considering the large proportion of British Dudeists it's not an accurate picture to only depict US dudes.  I mean, the documentarty makers are Brits, but did they only join up to make the film?

It would be interesting press to see a less biased documentary, I agree!

brandt

Brits, spics, chinamen, what the fuck are you talking about? Just go bowling, rug shopping, smoke a J, or hit the local liquor store for some kahlua. Mellow people don't want buzz unless it's from one of the above. Strangers will always fuck you in the ass. Stay away from strangers. You will know them by their insecurity, anger, pretentiousness(sic). You will always recognize a Dude. Am I wrong? Okay then.
It's Brandt, get back to us when you're done. I'd go with you, but they were very clear. Just one. :) :) :) :)

forumdude

you guys should contact the fellows over at the film and see if you can urge them to cover british dudeism. i agree that the guys featured in that video were a little more gun-happy than the average dudeist, which makes some dudes uncomfortable. gun.

i suspect it might have been a funding issue which has kept them from moving forward. maybe they might be induced to go on a road trip through england. i bet you guys would be great on camera. give them a holler. i've had little luck getting in touch with them recently. not sure what's up.
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...
