Yeah I used to watch Brainiac right, and think to myself yeah this is a cute parody of Myth Busters, but as I continued to watch sketches such as I can do Science me, and paid closer attention to the tests they actually performed I began to wonder as to the average intellectual quotient of the British subject, I moved to England about 2 years ago to study and visit my mums side of the family and in the 6 months that I was there I was horrified as to how dumb most of the people were, now yes I spent some time in South Yorkshire among some people who appeared to have no grasp of the English language but I also spent a lot of time in Manchester and Liverpool and spent some time in London as well, now for a country where education is free and provided by the government not to mention that the UK has an outstanding educational system because I was learning intensively for close to 6 months and found myself motivated and surrounded by excellent facilities to further myself, how on earth did everyone else get so fucking dumb?

Then Allow me to pull my fut out of my mouth and apologies, it was uncalled for and I'm sorry, When I was in England I was constantly the target of racism and bigotry, for a good 4 months I had groups of 40-50 kids outside shouting anti sematic insults at my mother and my two little brothers, we hadn't even got a chance to settle in when my mum had two of her ribs broken on the buss home one night, My little brother and Sister were almost always terrified and even though we moved to liverpool and manchester we were subject to the same racial abuse, Now I apologies to everyone I've wrongfully hurt but I have great reason to be angry about what happened to me, although its misguided in this forum, but I have every right to be angry and I'd assume that you could all respect that.

That Aside, while I was in England, I was a student in Manchester university and I was truly happy to be a member of that institution the standard of  learning is great, and I'm sure that the British population is nothing like what I describe them to be, sadly I only seemed to encounter narrow minded racism.

Or you could write them down in a kind of poster and stick it where you work and once someone asks a stupid question you send him/her to read the poster.  At least you can save your voice.

Or post it on your intranet (thats intra as in internal not inter as in external, just in case ) and number the answers so when they call you can just say "answer number 5!"

Allow me to apologise for the minority (though it may not seem like it to you) of bigots that exist in the UK. Unfortunately the majority are less noticeable because they are the ones NOT making the noise (if you know what I mean).

I spent a few years living in the north of England, I personally had no trouble (because I look like some psychotic axe murderer), but friends of mine had a lot of trouble just because we were southerners, or Sikh, or other outsiders that were easily spotted. Some people react very tribally when presented with an obvious outsider. I don't excuse their behavior but please don't assume that just because people you experienced in the UK where of a certain type all of us are the same. There are sixty million people in Great Britain which means that even if you were to meet thousands you would only be meeting a very small percentage of the population.

Though I appreciate your anger, I do think perhaps it is badly placed here, and a little undudely yourself to react like this.

Though it was interesting seeing you use the term "Ubermensch" as an insult I would like to hear more on this as the only use I'm familiar with is in Friedrich Nietzsche's work.

Hey guys, I started this thread as a laugh, just to show everyone about the dumb things people say in my work environment. I didn't want it to turn into a racial debate.

I say the most stupid things sometimes and use the excuse that I used to be blond.

Once while on a helicopter course (having worked on fast jets for many years and being used to aircraft always flying forwards)  I asked , "Well how slow can this actually fly then?"

Dumbness knows boundaries and no social limits from the richest and most educated to the poorest and illiterate. Unfortunately neither does racism as I can see from SIYH previous post. Very undude man.

I'm sliding back over to general stupid people comments.  Just want to say, for the record, that sometimes I'm a stupid person myself, so I don't want to come across as immune to stupidity.  However, I digress...
My friend recently said that she was worried that the gulf oil spill was going to work its way up the Mississippi River and pollute the Great Lakes.   Had another friend say that he knew that the documentary we were watching on dinosaurs wasn't really filmed during dinosaur times because it wasn't filmed in black in white.

I am dyslexic, and as such have a very pedantic understanding (or not understanding) of the English language.

My family don't ask me to "throw the salt over" at dinner because if I'm not concentrating properly they have to duck.

The other day the head of my department saw I had an older Creative Zen (mp3 player), realising it had a solid state drive in it he asked me how big it was so I told him about an inch. (30 gig was actually the answer he was looking for)

After a few drinks all the concentration and control disappears so I am not the guy who you stand next to and say "someone should tell them ...." because I will.
