Ok, i'm a single mom of 2. One is autistic. I have to keep the house kinda half-decent.

How do you Dudes keep your private residences CLEAN? or are they all dinged up and gross? I love a clean house...but I fuckin' LOATHE housework. I mean, I hate it. And I have to do it every day. Ugh! It's a bummer man.

Course the kids make the majority of the mess so , i mean, when they go off to college, the place will look stellar. I'm not kidding...they go to their dad's on the weekends, and I barely make a dent in the joint. When they're gone, there'll be dust, for sure. Other than that, fuckin' A.

But how does a Dude deal with housework and mess when kids are involved?

Fuckin' A.

I'm just trying to enjoy this time bcuz when the kids are older, i'll miss them. So i just do the damn housework and try to friggin' whistle while I work, so to speak.

There's a double standard, man! Women, even single women without kids, look like mental patients if their residences are spoilt.
Whereas, a dude , just looks like a bachelor.

I can see how it would be beneficial to have a wife.

I try and keep my flat clean...especially the kitchen...but fucking A the clutter and mess is in every room and cupboard and drawer...any available space is just filled with crap man!

I sorta sort the living room out before the gf comes round....but to her I live in a batchelor pad man.

It's hard to hoover when the floor has so much stuff on it!

Oh and as for the cobwebs....and the half painted bathroom....she will never stay over I feel!

Just as well she has a nice clean uncluttered apartment!

In untidy bliss dudes.  ::)

It's like silting up in rivers, wherever I slow down in the house piles of crap build up.

Sailing Dude

Working for myself works really good for me, I collect rents and play music. I really don't clean unless it is our sailboat, I leave cleaning up to my followers in Dudeism. One of my followers cleans and one grows the hydroponic prescription herb garden that makes us all happy Dudes. Delegating is the answer!!!  ;D  it only works with happy  ;D  followers of Dudeism.

Well I *love* a clean, tidy, organized environment. But with kids, it's all I can do to keep up.

If i had like, the baksheesh, the first thing I would do is hire a house cleaner to come in like, every evening. fo real.

Funny thing is when i'm out in other ppl's private residences, i don't even notice the clutter or crap. I don't care at all. If i notice it's only to think "hey, cool, my place is way cleaner than this, i must be doin' alright man" I can totally relax in THEIR cluttered environment but in my own; i am always putting things away, i loathe clutter.

I like tidiness too. It's like, a part of your mind, like, if you can't find anywhere to put your beverage down for a moment, then how can your mind be open to all the new shit? You can't put any new shit down in there, man.

Just tidy real slow. There's always some things a dudes gotta do alongside napping.

Okay, I don't work for this company and I don't own one of these robos, but perhaps something like this could help?

Zen Dog

Funny thing is, at work I am fairly obsessive about a tidy cab.
Other drivers and conductors leave newspapers and coffee cups and all kinds of crap.
At home on the other hand,I have piles of newspapers left open at interesting articles
which I never get around to reading,my tools are on the floor because my camping kit is filling up the cupboard under the stairs and I'm sure I have unopened mail going back a couple of years.
But I have a clear line of site from the sofa to the tv and there is beveridge space on the coffee table.
If you believe you can tell me what to think.
I believe I can tell you where to go.

Yep that sounds like my house. Must be able to watch TV and play on the Xbox, small space for beverage by the sofa.

A wiser fellah than myself once told me, "cleaning is like eating an elephant." Sounds like some Eastern thing to me.  I think what he meant by it was, you have to take it small bit by small bit. Instead of doing major clean-up jobs, just pick it up when you see it.

It works for me, but that's just, you know, like my way, man.

My special lady friend and I have two kids and we live in a two bedroom house with one closet.  Every room is like a huge storage bin with chairs.  I don't think it's possible to have a clean home with children running around.  I just abide and say fuck it unless I know company is coming over then I'll dust off a spot on the couch :)

Yeah, I get that. When it's my place, I see all the work that needs to be done. Other places, I can't be worrying about that. Also, I get how women are expected to be neat and good housekeepers. My mom worked part-time through most of my childhood. Used her money to hire someone to clean every two weeks.
