That's a good point.  Maybe causally slip in a bit about a rise in Dudeist fundamentalists, pulling pieces on lanes, and whathaveyou.  Maybe they'll think twice.

That's fucking interesting, man.  Or is it an oxymoron?   

Well, it's an interesting concept, but yes, it should be a complete Oxymoron.  The trouble is, almost every religion has its fundamentalists.  From the Crusaders, to the KKK, from Jihadists to shoe-bombers to name the most prominent ones we usually concern ourselves with.

You might be surprised to know there have been groups of fundamentalist Buddhists.  There's always been someone, of any belief, who'll take it just that one step too far.

I was considering writing a Dudespaper article on this subject in the future, when a few more examples crossed my path, because I've seen a few whacked out sorts really making some undudely rants in the name of Dudeism.  Which, I think you'll agree, has the makings of Dudeist Fundamentalism.  After all, the sorts of people who become fundamentalists are completely alien from their religious compeers, taking things out of context, smudging and ignoring key points in the ethos, etc.  Religion is a very interpretive thing, but most major religions all teach a message of peace and goodwill that some people choose to completely ignore when plotting to rig bombs and set large wooden crosses alight on their neighbour's lawn.
