Philly area Dudeists - Big Lebowski screening to fight cancer!

Look, man.  I've got information.  Certain new information has come to light and we -- the royal 'we' -- need to pass it on to you, okay?  I'm talking about The Dude, here.  The Dude Hates Cancer.  As you may know, the charity bowling tournament and concert is set to go off on August, 28th, 2010 at North Bowl and, look, we're going to be registering teams for it soon.  But it's not just going to be a case of, 'Hey let's start signing up teams today, man!'  C'mon...this is 'The Dude' we're talking about here!  So, you know, we're going to have a big event thingy to start signing up teams!

Here's the deal: The Registration Kickoff Party, to use the parlance of our times, will take place on Tuesday, April 27th at World Cafe Live (doors open at 6pm).  World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut Street) is nowhere near the In-and-Out Burger, but they do have great food and there will most certainly be beverages involved (including "Caucasians," "Special Lady Friends," and "The Treehorn" drink specials all night long as well as discounts on California craft beers from Bear Republic and Anderson Valley Brewing Companies).  And here's another thing, man...if you dress up like The Dude or another character from The Big Lebowski, you get a free drink on the house!

There'll be music, man.  I'm not talking about The Eagles here, either...I hate The Eagles almost as much as I hate cancer.  Nah, we've got this great bossa nova outfit called Roomtone coming out to play a set.  Trust me, they really tie the room together.

And then, of course, we'll be screening my movie, The Big Lebowski, at around 8pm.  And if you haven't seen my movie, then you probably don't really understand this post one bit, dude (nor should you be on this message board).

I must stress, this will be your best chance to register a team for the big event in August (and you most certainly don't want to miss out on that)!  Spots are going to fill up fast, dude, and I can't guarantee there will be spots available after this event.

Good for you, I hate cancer also, however, I can't abide Philly, the cops are way too reactionary/fascist/corrupt. I too once practiced law enforcement, however, Philly cops are way over the line.......so I'll take it easy out here in Montco, do a few caucasians, screen my own TBL, and do my own special hating of cancer. My special lady beat it for the past five years and as long as we continue hating it for it's "Nam" like, no rules, disregard for health, and do our research homework we can continue to fuck it in the ass for the stranger it is. So fuck it, go bowling and enjoy your night.
