Howard wrote The People's History of the United States and did so much for this country and the progressive movement.

Howie was one of my father Doug Dowd's best friends. They started together in the Civil Rights Movment and anti-Vietnam War Movement and have worked... together since then. Howie wrote on the cover of my father's new book "Inequality and the Global Economic Crisis" which came out last week: :"A penetrating analysis of where we are today.
