Bowling. Did it exist in 1904 and in what form?

What's a pub?

A Dudeist temple!

Find yourself a local and get to some serious Duding, right now :)

Bacchanalian Temple (Dudeists Welcome) if you don't mind there sir!

Ah, no, I'm not a namby-pamby wine-drinker, sir.  You can tell Bacchus to take his grapes and... err... squeeze em! :D

As for bowls, yes, bowls has been around for a long long time.  It's a wonderful game, for gentlemen and old codgers.  I personally prefer bowls... lighter balls!

I guess it is somewhat of an American trait to marvel at doodads and antiques from days gone by, because our own history is relatively brief.

I actually collect fountain pens (among other things), and the crown jewel/pride and joy of my collection is a Parker 51 from the year 1948.  I still marvel at the pen's age, because most folks these days use cheap, disposable pens that run out of ink after a few weeks and can't be refilled.  You might think my relic would be near worthless; but in fact, it writes like a DREAM, and I use it practically every day, with my own special ink recipe I crafted to match the grayish-teal barrel color.  Ah, the simple joys of anachronistic foppery!

"Ah, the simple joys of anachronistic foppery" YES, thats it exactly!

Our game I suspect is timeless and universal.
20 years ago I won a game of petanque or boule in the south of France.Franky Drake was chucking a few rocks as the Spanish were planning a run ashore in Plymouth.
I am starting a bowling league at work and one driver declined. He said I Green bowl in the summer but play pub skittles in the winter.
And do you think it odd that nothing much happened in aviation since they scraped Icarus off the runway then we go from heavier than air flight to moon landing in just 66 years?
If you believe you can tell me what to think.
I believe I can tell you where to go.

Caesar dude

And do you think it odd that nothing much happened in aviation since they scraped Icarus off the runway then we go from heavier than air flight to moon landing in just 66 years?

Hey man once we got the theory right the rest just followed. I'm an avionics engineer and flying isn't mystical it's just very unsound...I believe the best quote is from HHGTTG

"The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day, [The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy] suggests, and try it.

Yep most aircraft shouldn't fly it's true....but however the theory works ...most of them actually do take off...and only a few less than that actually land with everyone inside alive and fairly healthy....fuck some of them even survive the inflight meals!

Space travel? Patooey! It's just throwing yourself of f the planet and avoiding the sun...not for beginners though!  8)

Peace.
Love is like a butterfly it goes where it pleases and it pleases where it goes. :)
