Lawyers for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have begun a bid in a French court to stop the sale and distribution of topless pictures of the duchess.

Their lawyer called for French magazine Closer to hand over the digital originals or face a daily fine, during a civil hearing in Nanterre near Paris.

I too could not be bothered with the royal family, to quote an old English teacher of mine, just because one of their ancestors stabbed the right person in the back why should they have all the money?

I don't wish them dead, just economically curtailed.

And lets be honest, their lawyers are taking action now, hands up who hasn't seen the pictures on the internet, get with the program royalty too little too late.

I've read the same thing from other dudes from the UK; it would seem there is a growing sentiment to get rid of the "royal family" and just who the fuck says they are "royal?" I'm not from the UK (although my father is and my mother was born Canada [part of the British Empire]) so I would say that my opinion on the matter is obviously limited, but I am wondering when England is going to get rid of their royal asses.

You are already an advanced parliamentary system and democracy, who the fuck needs a "royal family" who does little or nothing but sit on their royal asses and be waited on hand and foot. They don't even participate much in government beyond what anyone could be involved in. Isn't time they bowed out of the royal bullshit and get a job? England has moved well beyond the need for a royal anything! It's the 21st fucking century; who the fuck needs a useless relic from 500 years ago? Kings, Queens, Dukes, Princes, Princesses, etc.

If I was born in Britain, I can tell you I would want their royal butts out and off public welfare. They seem to serve little purpose beyond material for gossip mags and the occasional boob photo and a scandal here and there. Who was at the helm during the Falkland island war? Sure as shit wasn't the Queen Mother; it was the Prime Minister, Maggie Thacher, an ELECTED official.
