OOPS!!

Nasa's UARS satellite plunges to Earth - but where?

Nasa is trying to determine where its six-tonne UARS satellite fell back to Earth early on Saturday.

The spacecraft was expected to re-enter the atmosphere by about 0500 GMT - officials say its debris might have landed in Canada but are not sure.

I remember hearing a news report about that. It was urging the public not to mess with any space debris if it happened to land in your yard, and to call the cops to report the debris. I sort of chuckled at that, since I don't think I'd need to report anything, seeing as how the sound of the impact would kind of be a report in itself, haha.
Plus, I'd be reluctant to part with such an awesome souvenir. Imagine how spiffy it could look on the mantle!

It would be cool to have a section of it to display, but be careful, there might be some laws in place about reporting "space debris." Probably not in this case (in the US that is), but it was true when the space shuttle Columbia came down; the public was warned not to mess with it and to report any citing of debris they might have came across. Obviously it was for purposes of an investigation into the cause of the accident, but it might be wise to check with your local authorities even in this case.

Sadly enough, some noob brained fools found sections and/or debris from Columbia and were stupid enough to try and sell it on eBay. Really asinine!

Wow... People really will try to sell anything on there. On that note, maybe Dudeism will lead to people selling odd items that bare The Dude's image (burned into toast and stuff) on Ebay.
I'm mostly kidding about keeping debris as a souvenir, I'd probably turn it in to NASA but I'd certainly be tempted to keep it. Keep it, not sell it like some fucking amateur.
