    Other sports like say golf come with some indication of sophistication.
    Other sports bring hints of adventurism and daring, feats of strength etc.

    Bowling is selfless. No one would adopt bowling as a social accessory.
    It's nothing to be proud of. It is just what it is. Like the Dude.
