Imagine if you will, a young Jeffery Lebowski. Before he was "The Dude". Before his Gran Torino was marked with wear and age. Attending college with his buddies, abiding as any one can, passing time with extra curricular activities. Occupying various administration buildings, smoking thai stick, heckling the ROTC, and bowling...Now imagine one day he is stopped by the police for littering (Que Alice's Restaurant), only they find that he was littering a roach. The fascist proceeds to "book him"....

Maybe a situation like this can explain more about the Dude's views, and lifestyle as he appears in 'The Big Lebowski'

Although the Dude has specific values and views, he still is breaking the real LAW.

...Now, why were the police called when Walter pulled a fire arm during league play at Holly Lanes?
And why did the Dude report his car stolen and mention the missing briefcase and his stolen rug?
Obviously to progress the story for the story's sake, but it's in pure contrast of his values. Why put faith and trust into the system that is corrupt and undeserving of it, when clearly his misfortuntes are tied together with him at the center as a suspicious character?

It begs another question: How should we view the law? With certain leisures like the Dude does, or with a strict adhearance to them?

I mean,when it comes to the law its all or nothing, as far as I'm concerened. a cop who runs a red light off duty or  throws a cigarette butt out the window, or neglects his taxes is breaking the law just as equally as the man who murders or rapes. Although the gravity of the crimes varies completely, and a religious person would claim on the law of god matters; this is just not the case when it comes to the world we live in.
It's still the law.

So where do Dudeists stand when it comes to the law? Are  we for it or against it, I personally am a constitutionalist, but at the end of the day, i support some system of law.

yeap, though i had a car stolen too, and the police DID find it, but they charged me impound, towing, and recovery fees that with the damage done from losing the car, it just shows they are a business and not really interested in helping, or sworn to anything other than doing their job so they can go home too.

Yea, the car thief in my case actually repaired a dent in the side door and left a buck knife the size of kansas in the back seat, not exactly used for hunting considering we were in the middle of the city. I didn't want anything to do with that mess so i dropped that back off at the po station...He also left some rap cds with music about robbing cars on it, no shitting.  This asshole actually steals cars then plays rap songs about stealing cars while he's driving them...the nerve.
i didn't keep the cds either.

What do we do when a bunch of facist alien monsters or vatican city forces tell us we can no longer practice dudeism?

oh yeah that was it, as long as you keep your gold-brickin ass out of my beach community, or isolated northern metropolis/venue, we'll get along just fine. I'm not 40 miles away in Holland, but there is a line that you will cross. And if you cross it, well then we'll make another line.
