recently i've been having horrible luck in the lady department... and by recently i meen for the past year and a half now. i keep reminding myself "ups and downs, strikes and gutters dude" but it seems that i've been stuck in the gutters for a bit. i try to look to The Dude for some wisdom on the ladies, but i don't see alot on that subject. could anyone help so i can get out of this rut?

Yeah, you just can't force things, nor worry about them happening.  I'm sure you can find your life flowing smoothly and before you know it, a lady comes along and makes a few waves out of the blue, and you just ride those waves, don't try splashing around in a panic, just ride them out.  Cool and smooth.

The best advice I can give is to simply stop looking.  When you're on the prowl, you're mind isn't limber, it's sharp and rigid and good for nothing but solving crosswords.  Just let that vision go and something will wander into your peripheral vision when you least expect it.  You meet someone, you'll talk casually, find out what you have in common, make a connection, impress her with your laid-back and cool exterior, along with your enlightened sense of the world... and ey!

Trust me, when I stopped looking, I found my soul mate, working right along side me in the same building for four years, never even spoken before.  Most people meet by chance, or in the case of my parents, re-meet by chance "hey, didn't we used to go to school together?".  My folks bumped into each other in a train carriage some years after school, never really having spoken before, and found they were the perfect match, more than 30 years on and still going strong, and with a little hairy duder to their name.

Happiness is a state of mind, with or without a woman, and finding a woman is the most natural thing in the world.

Don't sweat it, don't force it, just realise it when it turns up and go with it.
Until then, have yourself another oat soda and park yourself on a lane.  You never know when you might see a single female bowler on the adjoining lane, do you?
