Maybe they weren't very nice to their roadies. If they made such a fuss about teenagers downloading their music for free, maybe they didn't care much for a bunch of brats, old or young, following them from town to town, smoking thai sticks, and just generally being bums...

I was watching Chinatown recently and I noticed the same line, "A bunch of assholes" in that film, spoken by Jake's cop friend.

I think that the Coens stole another scene from that film. Compare the little dork in the County Clerk's office in Chinatown to Francis Donnelly in the Funeral parlor. Twins, or does every little prick look the same to me?

Got a lot of ideas floating around in the ole' digitalbuddha's head, but not sure I have it figured out yet, brandt. Sticking to a good drug regiment though, so I should come up with an uncompromisable first draft sooner or later. 

Well, Dbudda, this did occur to me. "bunch of assholes" is a common descriptive phrase, Oh fer instance in Nam, where there were no  rules, we were ordered by a "bunch of assholes", the war was prosecuted by a 'bunch of assholes", a strict drug regimen confirmed your life was not controlled by a "bunch of assholes", so you see Metallica was predated by many "bunches of assholes", so the Dude was quite right in ending his musical career and moveing on to meeting other "bunches of assholes". Dude, that is a damn good thought. Being a "bunch of assholes" could be a positive career move. I know it has been for me at times. And I like yur train of thought. I've been referring to the US congress as a bunch of assholes, but not in a positive light of course. Now there is a cluster fuck of nihilists if I ever saw one who are always over the line. Fuck it, mark it zero, next frame.
