well I do not feel I needed to wach the entire video. He was speaking what I've been saying for last month at least. When others try forcing religion on me saying I hope you find god through or I'm praying for you thing along those lines.it just makes me wanna say why what is a god who is supposed to be loving allow an innocent child with medical problems and is just starting to get better to die and put my entire family in this great amount of pain of losing him. Oh but he works in mysterious ways that doesn't give me my son back it still makes me feel miserable the right on man i full hear what you're saying and agreed to every word of it. but as always well in this case it is not just be mine that is my opinion you can take it or leave it I don't care that is your opinion

Yes, but does anyone really believe that a church organization like the Catholic Church who protects and shields child raping so-called "priests" and "fathers" from justice has an answer to any moral questions? A church organization that brings in literally billions of dollars annually and has huge amounts of it's members living in poverty and want, they have answers? This is an organization that protected insane nazi killers after WWII and gave aid to them helping them escape justice. Fuck the Catholic Church.

This dude cuts a huge swath not just through the Catholic church, but all bible-based religions as a whole. I shared it because in 10 minutes, he articulated the most succinct, un-emotional, complete and thorough discrediting of bible-based religion I've heard yet. His arguments are air-tight.

So DB, it's not just "Fuck the Catholic church", it's "Fuck any religion based on the bible".

Keeping people in the flock. And doing it through lies and fear mongering.

Personally I find the view of Marx even more sobering.
We see the income gap growing and the perversion of the reformation principles that this country (USA no offense to other Dudes) perverted and co-opted by money, and you scan the radio signals and hear the message that tells people to behave, turn the other cheek and forgo material pleasures for those that will come AFTER WE ARE DEAD and it just makes my blood boil.
It is truly the Opiate of the people. The dogma of the christian church is a carefully constructed circular lie. It was written by those fully aware of an agenda that even then had been going on for millenia It is about control.
The church is every aspect has never been any better than the most dishonest faith healer with an earphone is his ear.

But is not a diminishing of greed for material things a good thing? After all, Dudeism also stands contrary to material excess.

Not arguing your general point here, dude, but I thought not hanging on to material stuff is part of what we here are all about...?

As for the rest, I don't care much for Harris, sorry. Witty, yes, but too arrogant and condescending for my tastes.
