Main questions about dudeism

  • Be blessed my brothers! We have gathered here to day to blah, blah, blah, and so on...
Back to the topic. Although I am a dudeism priest i still don't know few things about that great reigion. But- for what the forum was made, huh? So, here are my questions to more experienced priest-colleagues:
    - what happens after death?
    - if someone asks me about religion, and i don't know the answer, can i just say: ,,I..I don't know, bro.. And I don't think that i have any more fucks to give about it" :)?
And.. that would be mainly it. Now, i have to mix irish cream with milk :)
Thanks for the answers brothers and sisters in faith!

  • I personal prescribe to the be life that when our time comes depending on how you lived your life will depend on what happens next whether it is we are reincarnated so many times before going on to the after life a personal heaven or personal hell I like to believe that even with reincarnation when we pass on to the after life we have all knowledge of all the lives that we have lived as for me iI know what my personal heaven and personal hell are I have already lived my personal hell on earth I know hell would be re liveing that day

  • Yeah, i pretty belive, that after death ,,Big Dude" (if you acted like a good dude on earth) will allow you to do whatever you want :) . You want reincarnation- no problem. Living peacefully up above, doing whatever you want- why not? Surfing, sailing, drinking, smoking, takiling with great people in history- of course!
And abot praying- i think, that if you just ask ,,Big Dude" for something in your mind, and belive, that he listened to you- whatever you were praying for will happen :D. Especially when you are a priest
PS. Please, forgive me my grammar and spelling mistakes (if there were any), I am from Poland.

  • Hi dudepriest and welcome.

    The problem with
    Quote

is that you might just have to sit down with Adolph and Stalin and any number of undudes!

I personally don't believe in an afterlife or valhalla or reincarnation or little green men!

I believe we have this life and we are lucky enough to enjoy some sort of consciousness which allows us to think that we are important (after all we are top of the food chain in our own environment)

I believe in nature and in science and in taking her easy.

I know that matter cannot be created or destroyed and therefore we are made of stardust and that we will become part of a tree or a bit of steel after our bodies have died and decomposed but I do not think for one minute that after I die I will walk on this planet again with any sort of awareness of who I once was.

Remember this cynical phrase. Human life is a sexually transmitted disease which will be painful and always terminates in death.

    Peace.
Love is like a butterfly it goes where it pleases and it pleases where it goes. :)

  • Well I go by what I see. After we die, the energy in our body dissipates, and our body physically dissolves back into that from which we originally came. We are as much death as we are life. Alan Watts said that "We didn't come into this world when we were born. We came out of it." The idea of us being somehow separate from the universe, something "other" that this universe is all happening to, is very much the cause of our mental suffering. The "Us" and "Them" perspective only leads to grasping at that which can never be held. Change is inevitable. The Dao flows. We are as seasonal as the leaves on a tree. And yes, keeping with the truth of now is always preferred to protecting my ego. If I don't know, well then I don't know. Well, that's just, like, my opinion man.

  • Read something good in the Abide Guide about how er.. uh... we're all just tumblers into which the universal kahlua  flows for a little bit and then is poured into some other vessel...

So I guess the lesson is Careful man, there's a beverage here.
    The dad abides.

  • If there is an afterlife, I guess I'll find out about it after my life. Can't be worrying about that now. I personally see Dudeism as more a philosophy for the here and now... but that, of course, is just my opinion, man.

Right On dude...just like my opinion man, but the best that I can figure...the whole purpose of life is to live it. Dudeism is just a handy guide to living our lives with less stress by learning to take er easy and Abide the best we can.
I was a sinner dude...thinking I Had  to do This and I had to do That...but as it turns out I really do not Have to do anything but live my life as peaceful and stress free as possible.
I drink very little, and though I would Love to...I do not smoke...it gripes my ass that marijuana is Still illegal dude...but this to I have learned to abide. One day dudes...one day.
And until that day....like The Dude said..."can't be worried about that shit man...life goes on."

BTW...Welcome to our beach party dude! 8)
